BPC-157 is a lab-made substance based on something naturally found in the stomach. Scientists study it because it seems to help the body heal faster in animals. Research suggests it may support the repair of muscles, tendons, bones, skin, the gut, and even nerves by improving blood flow, reducing inflammation, and protecting cells from damage. One reason it stands out is that it is very stable, meaning it doesn’t break down easily in the stomach or in the body. It also appears to protect important organs like the stomach, liver, and blood vessels from injury caused by drugs, toxins, or poor blood flow. However, even though the early results are promising, BPC-157 has not been approved for use in people and is currently allowed only for research studies, so more testing is needed to prove it is safe and effective (Sikiric et al., 2011; Gwyer et al., 2019).
